How to Use the New LinkedIn Contact Feature

Community 150Recently, LinkedIn announced a new feature – LinkedIn Contacts. This new feature enables you to store all your contacts in one place; and stay in touch with your most important business connections.

The LinkedIn Contacts feature brings together all your address books, emails and calendars, while helping you keep them up to date in one place. LinkedIn will pull in the details of your past conversations and meetings bringing them directly into your contact's profile.

You will be able to see all the people you’ve engaged with via email (i.e. leads, prospects, and clients) but whom you are not connected to on LinkedIn. This has a great potential of growing your network. But there is a snag. The new feature does not allow you to email multiple contacts at once; you have to mail them one by one.

However, this feature hasn't been given to everyone yet. In order to know whether you have this new feature or not, log into your LinkedIn account. In the top navigation, go to 'Network ‘click 'Contacts'.  If you have been given access to this new functionality, you will see the screen prompting you to bring all your contacts together.

You no longer need to struggle to remember your exact relationship with connections and to follow up. You can now add notes to one's profile, note how you met and add follow-up reminders.

You can synchronize your email contacts from inside LinkedIn, as well as from Gmail, Google Contacts, Yahoo Mail & Contacts, Outlook Mail and Contacts and the iPhone Address Book. Calendars from Google, Yahoo and Outlook are also available for syncing. When you import or synchronize your calendars, shared calendar events are also shown. Are You Making this Mistake?

Community 150Majority of business owners, like you, realize the importance of social media in business marketing success but many of them are making mistakes that can destroy their businesses.

Unfortunately, they are not aware that they are making these mistakes. I am passionate about doing my bit to rescue such businesses; that is why I wrote a free report that can help you avoid the mistakes. You can download it here The Big Mistake People Make with Social Media Marketing.

Social media is an easy way to connect with millions of people all over the world; particularly your present and future customers.

There are two things I love about social media – one is that it is dirt cheap to market through social media, almost free; and two is that it never sleeps. No matter where you are or what you are doing, you will always have friends and clients to connect with from all over the world. At any hour of the day, there will be people to connect and share with.

On the business front, social media helps to bring more people to your list, growing your client base and increasing your profits. But then, the size and quality of the list you’ll be able to grow will depend on what you are posting on social media each day.

The messages you post on social media should be the type of messages you will send to a friend. Your message should not be self-centered. Even if you are talking about your life, make sure that there is a point or lesson your readers can learn from your message that will improve them. You sure do not want your reader to delete you from their contacts; so think of them and what can be of interest to them when posting.

It is important that you make your social media communication a two way conversation. In order to spread your message, whether business or personal, you must build relationships with people. Social Media marketing will give you extraordinary results if you engage your readers in two-way conversations.

When you are concerned about your clients and are eager to serve them, eager to help them succeed; you will surely and easily succeed. You need to educate your readers, build them up, encourage them and communicate with them. Do everything you can to assist them and rescue their ailing businesses That is when you become invaluable to them.

Download the free report The Big Mistake People Make with Social Media Marketing, read it carefully and take immediate action steps on rectifying this destructive mistake.

How Can You Market Effectively on Twitter?

Leverage Fresh News on Twitter

In most cases, news hits Twitter before hitting the search engines. When you search your keywords on Twitter, you will find conversations in real time. Twitter will also help you discover trending topics which can drive your content and thus establish your relevance.

Drive Traffic to Your Facebook Page

Twitter is the best traffic source which you can use to drive traffic to your Facebook page as well as your blog or website. If you want to use Twitter to drive traffic to your Facebook page, post free offers (e.g. e-book, video, etc.) to the page and share the free offers about two or three times a day on Twitter. This is one very good leverage with Twitter; you cannot post so frequently to Facebook otherwise you might get your content labelled as spam.

Drive Traffic to Your Blog/Site

When most people first post on their blogs, they share the post. But it shouldn’t stop at that. You should share your blog posts routinely. You can share a link on Twitter to old contents which you have on your site, every hour. However, how often you link posts on your site depends on how much content you have because you cannot keep linking to the same article all the time.

Leveraging old contents from your blog in the right way can increase your traffic by up to 300%. As long as your articles are still relevant and still hold value, use them. Study your audience, know them, identify what they want and give it to them, simple!

Schedule Posts

Twitter Marketing allows you to use free tools like Hootsuite to schedule posts to Twitter (as well as some other social media platforms) which will appear at different times throughout the course of the day. Remember that you don’t schedule the exact same post throughout the day; you need to tweek them around so you can see what people respond to the most.

In order to be able to measure which of your tweets perform better, I advise that you direct each tweet from Twitter to a particular landing tab on your Facebook page. You will set such tab up to enable people opt-in to your list; that is why I call it ‘landing tab’.  This is where you are offering something free in order to encourage people to opt into your list. Monitor the tab to see which tweet attracts the most opt in.

Prepare and Plan

First, make a list of all of your content, review them to ensure that they are still relevant enough for Twitter; edit as needed. Next, set them out and use them in the order of relevance to your post. This means you should, as much as possible, link to articles that connote with your post.

 Use Hashtags (#)

Use hashtags with your keywords when posting your tweets. For example, is you have an article about Facebook marketing, use #facebook or #facebook marketing so that people searching for information about Facebook will find your content. Although it is possible for people to find your content without hashtags, but using the hashtag increases the value and ‘findability’ of your of your content. Hashtag contents have more relevance in searches; people look for hashtags on Twitter.

Hope you enjoyed this article. I n my next article, we will be looking at Common Mistakes Marketers make with Twitter. Till then, keep tweeting and let the traffic roll in. Ciao!
